A Long Day

Today was such a long day! The kids were all super hyper. I guess it is just a perk to working with preschoolers. But I was very happy when I got to leave today. Not that I don't love them. But after 10 hours, it is nice to get to leave. To find some quiet time. I came home and took a nice long warm bath. Then took Pinky for a walk as we waited for our pizza to be delivered. Because I just couldn't bring myself to cook tonight! :)

I had to study. I have a test tomorrow. But I honestly didn't mind. It wasn't that bad. And right now, I have More to Love on. Since it started, I have watched it off and on. Not really keeping up with the story. But I am glad he picked Talia. I remember her from the first episode. They seem very happy together! Makes me believe in love all over again!

Now, I need to get to bed. I have to be up early. I am taking my grandma to the doctor. And I have a test at school. Then to the preschool for new adventure with the kids! They keep me on my toes! ~Nat

Unexpected Makeup Shopping

Yesterday I went to Walgreens after work. I had a kinda rough week. I wanted to go out and buy some chocolate. I figured I could come home and veg out for the night. Eat some chocolate and forget about my trouble. I picked up some Kisses, chocolate covered peanuts, and chocolate covered raisins. Yum! I also picked up a magazine (Lucky) because the line was ridiculously long!

Then they opened up the register in the cosmetics department. And I went there to check out. So did half the line. I found myself in front of the Wet and Wild display. And I got a few things. Not just because I was standing in line. That did kinda push me over the edge though. But because a few friends had recommended some of these things. Here is what I got.

I bought some Mega Eyes in Naked (brown) and Wicked (black). They are nice colors. I was a little shocked with the color, because it is a strong color for the price. Much stronger than CoverGirl. They also have some shimmer in them. But not a whole lot. I like the black one especially. Something special for a night out. Which I used. Because I met my friends for dinner last night. I added it to a light pink eyeshadow that I already had. It looked really nice.

I bought an Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette in Paradise Cove. They are more neutral colors with purples and mauves. Also some light pinks. I absolutely love this for the price! The compact also has a large mirror on the bottom. I think this would be nice when you are traveling. It is a nice compact that you can use in many different ways.

I also picked up one of the Mega Glo Illuminating Powders in Catwalk Pink. The 2 outer colors are shimmery. And the 2 middle colors are matte. I think this will be nice to add a little something special to my face on a night out. I am also thinking that you could use the individual strips of color as an eyeshadow. But I really like the colors. There is a nice light pink that I think will look nice as an eyeshadow. And a brown that you can use as a bronzer color. Very cool!

I also couldn't resist one of my favorite things, Watermelon Lip Smackers. I actually lost mine at work this week. There was a display thing right next to the register. With only 1 watermelon one left. I got it!

The last thing I bought was this Eco Tools brush set. It was about $12. I can't really remember. And I am being lazy. I don't want to go get the receipt from my purse. I like the eye brushes a lot. But the big powder brush, I don't like it! Whatever the brushes are made out of, it is too heavy of a material to be good for powder or blush. It could just be me, but I don't like that one brush.

I bought all these things to just try out and have fun. I'm no makeup expert. But these were just a fun buy. Something to play with. The brushes are nice. You can't really go wrong for $12. I had 3 friends recommend them. Mostly because of the eyeliner brush. Which I tried out last night. It made putting on my Jane gel liner very easy. Much more than the brush it came with!

The other things I bought were just to have a little fun. I hear some of my friends talking about this. Manders is a makeup artist and she is always suggesting different makeup products. She tries to give us drugstore suggestions too! Which I really appreciate. Littlebit also shares with me a variety of makeup knowledge. From Estee Lauder to ELF. I like that she is always looking for good products and doesn't care if a good product cost $1 and you can buy it a Target. Or if it is a $40 product from MAC. I like that she just shares her wisdom. ~Nat

Dancing Away

I have to say, I really like Whitney Houston's new song. It was just on the radio. It is catchy, fun, and it makes me dance. Actually, it puts a smile on my face! Makes me feel hopeful about love and dating. Million Dollar Bill is the name of the song. It is a good one. You can listen to it here. I think Pinky thinks I have lost it! She is looking at me like I am going crazy. It is a good thing that she is the only one here! Well, I am going so I can dance some more! ~Nat

Cooking Skills

I think I need some better cooking skills. Or at least more recipes. Better recipes? I don't know. But I seem to be in a rut when it comes to cooking. I want to learn more. Maybe experiment more. I think I am going to go to the library and check out some cookbooks. I want to expand my recipe box. I am a good cook. But I am stuck on 20 or so recipes. And I repeat them over and over. I want to try out some new things. I should probably call Littlebit. She has a whole library of cookbooks. And boxes of recipes! ~Nat

Family Sunday

Today my family and I are spending the day together. This weekend has already seemed very busy. But we are all going to spend the day together. My grandparents are especially excited about the day.!We are all going to go to church together. And out to breakfast afterward. It is a real treat for all of us to go together! And to get to hear the mariachi while we eat!

The rest of the day, we will be at my parents' house. My mom and I are going to cook. And I think we are going to have other family around as well. I like days like this. There aren't really any plans. You just kinda go with the flow.

The one thing that I am really, really excited about is sitting and talking with my grandparents. I love the stories they tell. I feel like I am back in time with them. It is just a nice connection to have. I suppose we will all get there some day. But I hope to get to hear many more of their stories before God calls them home.

I should get going. I still need to shower and get ready. Before heading to my parents' to help them with my grandparents. But I hope you have a Happy Sunday! ~Nat

Twitter

I joined twitter a little while ago. It seems interesting. Much more than MySpace. Where I have to say, I encountered more than my fair share of weirdos. That's why I hardly ever sign on any more. Don't get me wrong, I did meet some really nice people on there. But the weirdos scared me away!! I'm going to go back to twitter and look for more of my friends. ~Nat

Crazy Day at Work!

Today was just a little nuts at work. We were 2 people short. They called in and went to the doctor. 1 of the other teachers now has the H1N1 flu thing. The other has pink eye! We will be down 2 teachers for at least the rest of the week.

And the lil peeps were all so hyper. I don't know what was in the air. But they took everything out of me! I think I am just going to go to bed early tonight. I picked up Subway for dinner. Because I just don't want to have to cook and clean up.

Oh, and we had a parent get really upset when we told them we couldn't take their child. We are at capacity. No room for even 1 more! I felt bad, but there are rules to our job. The kids told me that the mom needed to go to time out for yelling. She was that loud. Just another day in paradise. ~Nat

Welcome!

Hi! I'm Nat bug. If you somehow stumbled upon my blog, Welcome! I am a fun loving preschool teacher. Just trying to get through college. And loving my dog, Pinky! I like the simple things in life. Like staying home to watch movies, going on a long walks, and having friends over for dinner.

If you are wondering, "Got Smiles?" is something my grandpa has told me for years. Because I am always smiling. When I was little that's what he would tell me. As far as Nat bug, that's just my life long nickname! I hope you come back to visit! ~Nat
